On May 9, 2021, Mia “Mira” Reshel, competitive Street Fighter V player for Team iQ, placed 2nd in the Capcom Pro Tour 2021 – North America West 1 defeating popular competitors including Dankadillas, UYU ChrisCCH, and Miky “Samurai” Chea, but ultimately falling to Nephew in Grand Finals.
The event was broadcasted on the CapcomFighters Twitch channel in front of an audience of 20,000 viewers where Mira’s outstanding performance fueled the energy of the audience, garnering many reactions varying in emotion. Her upset wins against top players in the region created a lasting impression on the fighting game community and established herself as a force to be reckoned with.
The Capcom Pro Tour events serve as qualifying tournaments for their ultimate tournament, the Capcom Cup, which features the world’s best Street Fighter V competitors. The winners of the Pro Tour events are automatically guaranteed a spot at the annual Capcom Cup. While Mira was just short of qualifying, she will have another chance with the next North American Capcom Pro Tour event on June 19, 2021.
